"Plants & Animals" by Rootabreaka's BIM Tim
"DJ Playaduster!! I had such a great time at Boogie Universal, loved the crew. Sorry to hear about the structure...."

So writes BIM Tim, a DJ with the Rootabreaka soundsystem based in L.A. -- a fine group of gentlemen who define themselves thusly:

RootaBreaka: (Bassica nar nar. napoboomica) n. Also called POSSE.

1. A collective of bassavvy individuals grown underground, with roots deep in various music scenes, harvested and used to drop subalicious bass bombs on unsuspecting party people.

I found a dusty, crusty CD in the Boogie Universal kitchen the morning after Rootabreaka performed in the Boogie Pyramid and it had this very mix on it, compliments of BIM Tim. I just had to share it with y'all. The playa seems so, so far away right now and I hope this mix brings a few particles of it back. It does for me. I made sure to ask BIM Tim if he's cool with me posting it here and he wrote back:
PLEASE feel free to post my mix on Destination Burning Man. I'm really stoked that you liked the mix!! There are some more mixes on the way, I'll let you know once they are posted.

Here is a link to some other ones....enjoy!

(If you dig this guest DJ bizness, you can check out another mix I found in the detritus of the Boogie Camp. It's from Caveman of the Late Night Freak Out crew and its called "The Road To Burningman." Give it a listen to right over here!

If you have a Burning Man-inspired music mix you want us to consider posting here on Destination Burning Man, send me an email at moontroll@destinationburningman.com.)
